YES for PARENTS
YES presentations are a way for parents to reacquaint themselves with modern curricula in a manner consistent with how the material was presented to their children at school. YES helps parents better understand how the material is being taught, as if they had been present in the class themselves. In this fashion, parents are better able to support their children’s learning, better able to help answer their children’s questions and better able to support the teacher’s work in class.
YES libraries are also a way for parents to inform and train themselves in their role as educators. When children embark upon their years in school, parents begin their careers as educators. YES is a way for parents to learn and appreciate the nuances of teaching and techniques of educating that parents will find applicable with their children at home and in the world. YES libraries facilitate parent development as educators to help them in partnering with their children’s teachers and to help them collaborate with those teachers in their children’s improved achievement in school.
